Accused on bail with conditions

A 28-year-old saleswoman of 71 Edgehill, St Thomas, has to report to the District ‘A” Police Station, St Michael,  every Tuesday before 9 a.m.

That was the order given today by acting Magistrate Anika Jackson, to Akilah Sharifa Dornita Thornhill, after she pleaded not guily to a charge in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court.  The charge is that sometime between September 13, 2017, and July 12, 2018, with intent to make a permanent default in whole or in part on an existing liability to make a payment, dishonestly induced Kerry MacMaster, her creditor, to wait for payment in the amount of $4,000 by deception, by falsely representing she would pay the sum of $4,000, but failed to do so when called upon.

Thornhill, who is represented by attorney-at-law, Jamila Rawlins, was granted bail in the sum of $2,000 with one surety and the matter was adjourned until April 4, 2019.

PC Kenmore Phillips was the prosecutor.
