Deshong remanded

Thirty-six-year-old Raymond Clifford Deshong is on remand at HMP Dodds on a theft charge.

The Bannister Land, Martindales Road resident was sent to the St Philip institution yesterday after he was unable to get a surety to sign bail on his behalf in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court.

“I am left hand and there are some fellas in prison that just want to see me like that. Instead of the remand block, please send me to the time block,” Deshong asked Magistrate Douglas Frederick while also revealing that he had been shot in the arm.

“If I can use my right hand, I gine use it. Up there got bear holligans,” he added as he eventually accepted that he was being sent to Dodds for the next 28-days.

Deshong returns to the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court on June 27. He is accused of stealing an $80 bed sheet on January 24 belonging to Karzis, located on Lower Swan Street, The City.
