Local News News Clarkson’s ‘Chic n’ Charitable 3’ a hit Barbados Today23/02/20201279 views The Clarkson Foundation’s third annual fundraising social event, ‘Chic n Charitable 3’ saw participation from a wide range of donors last night at the Royal Westmoreland Club House, as Barbadians dug deep into their pockets to support the work of this charitable non-profit organisation. Just about one-third of the more than 500 people who bought tickets this year turned up for the glitzy affair that was topped with an auction, which saw those present again digging deep to buy the items put on the block. Founded in 2013, and chaired by Beverly Smith-Hinkson with her husband, Home Affairs Minister Edmund Hinkson the patron, the Clarkson Foundation has been providing social welfare and community services as well as supporting projects for residents of St James North and the environs. A flagship programme is annual training of young people in so-called ‘Soft Skills’ that gives them the mannerisms and outlook to become employable, or create their own employment. (GA)
