Streeks remanded to Dodds

Ricardo Orlando Streeks (FP)

Ricardo Orlando Streeks was back before Magistrate Douglas Frederick today after a three-week stay at the Psychiatric Hospital where doctors were observing him.

When the case against the 44-year-old, of no fixed place of abode, was called Magistrate Frederick informed him that doctors had concluded that he was fit to plead to the charge leveled against him.

Streeks is accused of having cocaine paraphernalia in his possession on July 1. He pleaded not guilty.

Magistrate Frederick considered bail pending the trial but the prosecutor informed the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court that they had been unsuccessful in getting someone to come and sign on his behalf.

With no suitable surety available the accused was remanded to Dodds until August 20.

He will get another chance at bail when he comes back to court.
