Two negative tests clear Hinkson

Edmund Hinkson

Former Minister of Home Affairs Edmund Hinkson has been given a clean bill of health after representing Barbados at the recent inauguration of Guyana’s President Dr Irfaan Ali where one of his Cabinet Members was later found to have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.

In a national address last Thursday, President Ali announced that his Minister of Foreign Affairs Hugh Todd had tested positive for the virus.

All members of Ali’s cabinet were tested for the virus and were mandated to quarantine themselves until they were cleared.

While Hinkson, who had represented Prime Minister Mia Mottley at the ceremony declined to say if he was quarantined, he told Barbados TODAY he was cleared.

“I have had two negative COVID-19 tests, so I good,” declared the former minister who was removed from Prime Minister Mottley’s cabinet during her reshuffle 28 days ago.

Four days ago, Guyana President, First Lady Arya Ali and some members of the Cabinet tested negative for the virus.

Since then, Tourism, Industry and Commerce Minister, Oneidge Walrond Allicock tested positive for COVID-19. emmanueljoseph@barbadostoday.bb
