My Collection Barbados – The One-Stop Shop For Buying Local

If you are looking for quality, locally made merchandise, look no further than My Collection Barbados. Located in Hastings, Christ Church, My Collection Barbados has become the main hub for local retailers and has created a space for them to offer their products at affordable prices, while giving them greater visibility in the market.

The one-stop shop covers the gamut for 100 percent unique Bajan made merchandise. Jewelry, clothing, baked goods and skin care products are among some of the items that can be found in this retail space. Managing Director Kian Ingrahm, said the ethos of My Collection Barbados is “we rise by lifting others” and they currently have 30 to 40 retailers on board. “My Collection was created to give local retailers, small businesses and artisans a platform to sell their products. Each person has their own mini-store within the store, and we sell and promote the products for them. We also sell the products online and deliver for them as well. A lot of small businesses have great products but just need help with marketing and a place where their customers can get access to those products.”

Artist Michelle R. Bowe, creator of the popular Bajan bus stop face mask, is one of the My Collection retailers, she has turned a number of her paintings into a line of products that include the masks, swimsuits, bags and even mugs. Bowe said the outlet has been great for her business.

My Collection Barbados is open Monday to Saturday from 9am to 5 pm, with extended hours every other Saturday for their sunset market on the Hastings Boardwalk. While the current location is on the South Coast, management hopes to open another location on the West Coast when tourists start to return to the island later in the year.
