MP encourages Barbadians to ‘Walk the Walk’

Christ Church South MP Ralph Thorne today urged Barbadians to unite to help vulnerable families.

He made the call as the second leg of the Walk the Walk – Walk as One Red Foundation virtual fundraiser got underway this morning.

“ I love the slogan, it takes a village and in a sense this tells us that Barbados is all one village and if we pull together as a village, we can pull through any crisis.

Today’s walk, which started from the Grantley Adams International Airport to Sky Mall, is part of an effort by Patron of the Red Foundation and Cultural Ambassador Red Plastic Bag to raise funds to help Barbadian families in need as the holiday season draws near.

In observation of COVID-19 protocols, Wiltshire will Walk the Talk alone, but he has challenged celebrities, politicians and other public figures to go part of the distance with him.

Barbadians can join in on the virtual walk through the Facebook and Instagram pages of the Red Foundation at @redfoundationbarbados and are encouraged to give generously either at the end of each leg of the walk, through www.kellmart.com, via the GOFundMe page set up in the name “Red Foundation”, or they can donate to the Red Foundation account at Republic Bank.
