St George man guilty of wounding

A nine-member jury today found Shamar Devon Norville guilty of unlawful wounding.

The 22-year-old, of Bourne’s Village, St George was on trial before Madam Justice Pamela Beckles charged that he committed the offence against Kelly Stephens on August 3, 2015.

According to the evidence Stephens was stabbed following a confrontation.

Following the verdict, Norville’s attorney Michael Lashley Q.C. requested that he remain on bail pending sentence.

It was granted.

A pre-sentencing report has been ordered as well as information on the time he spent on remand in relation to the offence.
