Road works activities for March 8 – 12

The paint crew of the Ministry of Transport, Works and Water Resources (MTWW) will recommence painting road markings this week. The crew will be marking the Norman Niles and JTC Roundabouts, weather permitting.

The crew will be working from Monday to Thursday from 6 pm until approximately 4 am. MTWW urges motorists to be extremely careful when traversing the work sites.

St James – Along Highway 1, Infra Construction will be paving from Molyneux to Cemetery Lane. Infra is also milling and paving the stretch of Highway 2A, between Upper Carlton to Rock Dundo. Construction of slipper and kerb is scheduled to commence shortly in Draconia Avenue.

St Andrew – Gabion stabilization projects in Trio Path, Bissex, Coconut Grove and Ridge Road have recommenced. The placement of a footpath from the A. Dacosta Edwards Primary School to the Belleplaine junction has also restarted and is continuing.

St Joseph – Work on Dark Hole continues this week, the road remains closed in order to facilitate road works and the construction of gabions. Phase 2 of the Fruitful Hill road rehabilitation project is also continuing.

S. Lucy – Work at Pie Corner Bridge has recommenced where the crew is constructing form work for the placement of the bridge deck. The construction of a retaining wall in Alexandria is soon to be completed with the walls still to be plastered. Peterses is still to be paved while paving work in 10th and 12th Maycocks has been completed.

St Michael – The work on Murphy’s Pasture continues, where a concrete drain from Mason Hall Street to Kensington Road is being constructed. The drain is being widened in an effort to alleviate flooding in the area. Work to mitigate flooding on Greenidge Road also continues. Road rehabilitation work is continuing at Grazettes Court, Trellis Walk and Lattice Lane in Grazettes, while work on Long Gap commences this week.

St Thomas – In Padmore Village and Downes Gap, repairs to slipper and kerb are being carried out.

St George – Crews are carrying out repairs to slipper and kerb at Redland and constructing a turning bay. The building of a footpath and drainage improvement in Boarded Hall is currently on hold while the construction of a cross culvert in Melverton has been completed.

St Philip – Road works continue at Train Road. A retaining wall at Fourtescue is completed.

St John – Road works are continuing at Pothouse.

St Peter – A gabion stabilization project is coming soon to Missom Bottom, Indian Ground.

Christ Church – Mini retaining walls are being built at Kendal Hill and the construction of a footpath is ongoing.

Pothole patching, de-bushing and drain cleaning are being carried out in districts as necessary.

MTWW urges pedestrians and motorists to exercise due care and attention when traversing the work sites, to obey the traffic wardens and pay attention to the signs posted.
