COVID-19 UPDATE: 30 new cases, 68 recoveries

On Monday, March 8, 30 new positive cases of COVID-19 were identified from among the 591 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

Meanwhile, 68 people have recovered from the viral illness and were released from isolation. The number of active cases is now 381.

The new cases comprise 15 women and 15 men. Sixteen of them had already been at the Harrison Point Isolation Facility undergoing assessment.

Barbados has recorded 3,333 confirmed cases – 1,576 females and 1,757 males – and 2,915 persons have recovered. There have been 37 deaths from COVID-19.

Since February 2020, the public health laboratory has completed 130,960 tests.

There were 50 persons vaccinated on Monday, as part of the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19.

To date, a total of 49,393 vaccinations have been administered – 20,761 men and 28,632 women. (BGIS)
