FLOW commits to regional clientele

by Marlon Madden
With a very active 2021 Atlantic hurricane season predicted, Telecommunications giant Cable & Wireless, the company which operates here as Flow, is giving its corporate clients the assurance that its infrastructure is secure.
In addition, Director of C&W Business Barbados Carlyle Roberts has pledged continued support to corporate clients through “partnerships”, as they continue to recover from the devastation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Roberts explained that C&W Business has been able to make changes to some of its Flow Business packages for corporate clients by “turning up or turning down services” based on what clients were able to afford over the past year.
Speaking specifically to the tourism and hospitality sector, which came to a standstill for several months following the advent of the pandemic in March last year, Roberts said he was aware of the difficulty
the businesses were facing, even as they start to slowly recover.
“From a local hospitality perspective in particular, we know that our returning guests will expect, and rightfully so, to always be connected; always on at any time, from anywhere and from any device. It is against that backdrop that we continue to say let us partner with you,” Roberts told the recent Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association (BHTA) annual general meeting.
He explained that C&W Business has been able to work closely with its hospitality clients over the past year to tailor some services due to the fall off in businesses, and that the company was prepared to continue to do so.
“Many of us have been hit hard. We know it from our customers who have said to us ‘how can you work with us because we just don’t have the guests that we used to, we don’t have the services, [and] we don’t have the income’.
“So we found it important that we found new ways to partner with you. It is not just from the perspective of product and services, but how we can help in terms of how we build and be able to turn up or turn down services,” he explained.
In relation to the disaster recovery, Roberts said “we have facilities that are specially and specifically constructed just for that purpose”.
“So if you want to find out how we can take some of your data to make sure it is ready and always up and 100 per cent available, we have the facilities that make sense for doing that in our climate and our environment,” he assured.
Stressing the need for partnership as companies emerge from the doldrums of the health pandemic, Roberts said: “as we look forward with renewed optimism for the rest of 2021 and beyond, we want you to be able to lean on us to help simplify your operations and create new efficiencies”.
