Eleven new COVID-19 cases recorded

The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory reported 11 new COVID-19 cases – five men and six women.

The number of tests carried out on Tuesday, August 3, is 1,233.

There are 101 people in isolation.

Barbados has recorded 4,433 confirmed cases of the virus (2,153 females and 2,280 males) since the start of the pandemic in March last year.

Forty-eight people have died from the viral illness.

To date, the public health laboratory has conducted 222,797 tests.

The National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19 has reached an important milestone after administering 100,017 first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. A total of 76,665 persons have received second doses and are fully vaccinated. This figure represents 28.3 per cent of the population. (BGIS)
