Barbados receives 70,000 doses of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine

Barbados, today, received more than 70,000 doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine which are part of an overall gift of more than 200,000 COVID-19 Pfizer vaccines from the Biden Administration.

The first batch arrived at the Grantley Adams International Airport on Friday at approximately 10:15 a.m. onboard a DHL aircraft. Acting Prime Minister Santia Bradshaw, Health Minister Lt. Col. Jeffrey Bostic, US Ambassador Linda Taglialatela, Coordinators of the National Vaccine Programme Major David Clarke and Dr. Elizabeth Ferdinand and other Government officials were on hand for the arrival.

The vaccines are expected to be included in the inoculation schedule soon. (PR)
