Man pleads guilty, awaits fate

A 39-year-old man who admitted to assault and theft against a visitor will make his second appearance before the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.

Richard Jamar Dupres, who is recorded as having no fixed place of abode, pleaded guilty to assaulting Melanie Racett on September 24 causing her harm and stealing a cellular phone, a phone case and charger worth $1,476.28 belonging to her.

He also admitting to damaging a pair of glasses belonging to the complainant on September 1.

Dupres, who appeared before Acting Magistrate Krystal Delaney on Monday, was remanded to HMP Dodds after he had no surety to sign bail on his behalf.
