No home quarantine for travellers

The Ministry of Health and Wellness reminds persons travelling to Barbados that they are required to await their COVID-19 PCR test results at a Government-approved quarantine hotel/villa.

Travellers are not allowed to quarantine at home.

The list of approved properties for quarantine may be found at www.barbadostravelprotocols.com. As outlined in the Barbados Travel Protocols, this accommodation is at the expense of the traveller.

Fully vaccinated travellers should book for at least two nights, as the test results take 24 to 48 hours to be returned. Unvaccinated travellers are advised to book a minimum of seven nights as they are expected to test after a five-day period, and results take 24 to 48 hours to be returned.

Home quarantine may be granted by the Chief Medical Officer for persons who fall into specific categories.

These include:

•People with medical conditions warranting special consideration;

•Persons with disabilities or accompanying persons with disabilities, and

•Diplomats.

Requests in such cases must be sent to the Ministry of Health and Wellness to the email address covid19hotline@barbados.gov.bb, at least three days prior to travel. (BGIS)
