COVID Update: New positive cases top 400

 

A total of 427 new COVID-19 cases, 239 males and 188 females, were reported for Thursday, October 21.  The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory conducted 2,555 tests.

The new positives comprise 70 persons, who are under the age of 18, and 357 who are 18 years and older.

There are 638 people in isolation facilities, and 3,896 in home isolation.

Confirmed COVID-19 cases recorded, since March last year, stand at 14,753 (7,146 males and 7,607 females).  As at October 21, 124 lives have been lost to the virus.

The public health laboratory has carried out 369,920 tests since February 2020.

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of persons with at least one dose is 146,302 (64.1 per cent of the eligible population).  The total number of persons who are fully vaccinated is 119,876 (44.2 per cent of the total population or 52.5 per cent of the eligible population).  The eligible population represents those persons who are 12 years and older. (MHW/BGIS)
