Murder-accused Shakira Carlann Blackman remanded to Dodds

Shakira Carlann Blackman was remanded to custody at Dodds Prison when she appeared in court today.

Blackman, 31, has been charged with last Saturday’s murder of Shanice Miller.

She appeared in the #1 Criminal Court before Chief Magistrate Ian Weekes. She was not required to plea to the indictable charge.

Blackman is scheduled to reappear in court on December 30.

Blackman, of 4th Avenue Park Road, Bush Hall,St. Michael is accused of killing Miller who received multiple injuries during an altercation with another female along Upper James Street, near the junction of Synagogue Lane, Bridgetown.

Miller, who lived at Kensington New Road, St Michael, died at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital while undergoing medical treatment, a day after the incident.
