Community Independence Programme seeking volunteers

The Community Independence Celebrations Secretariat (CICS) is inviting interested persons to apply for the 2022 Parish Ambassador Programme and to sit on the executive body of the island’s Parish Independence Committees (PICs).

Persons interested in serving as a Parish Ambassador must be between 18 and 30 years old; while those who are interested in being an Attendant, must be 25 years or older.

All applicants must be citizens of Barbados or permanent residents, reside in the parish they wish to represent and must have a sense of community pride, be willing to learn and work with others.

Interested persons are also invited to apply to sit on the executive of their Parish Independence Committee. The executive body comprises 10 persons, including the posts of Chairperson, Deputy Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer, Assistant Secretary/Treasurer, Public Relations Officer and Floor Members (four).
