Companies reminded to file 2020 annual returns

The Corporate Affairs and Intellectual Property Office (CAIPO) is reminding the public that the deadline for filing 2020 annual returns by companies, which were incorporated between July 1 and December 31 in any given year, is Friday, December 31, 2021.

The Registrar of Companies has noted that this is in accordance with Section 15 A (2) of the Companies Act, Cap 308 as amended.  The penalty for late filing of annual returns is $10 per day up to $3,000.

Persons have the option of paying via EZPay+. Once payment has been made, a copy of the documents being filed, along with the EZ Pay+ proof of payment, should be emailed to caipo.general@barbados.gov.bb.

A drop box to facilitate payments by cheque and document submission is located at CAIPO, Baobab Tower, Warrens, St Michael. All documents must be placed in a sealed envelope with full contact details provided. Absolutely no cash should be placed in the drop box.

No appointment is required to submit documents via dropbox. However, persons opting to file and pay over the counter must book an appointment by visiting https://booking.appointy.com/caiposearch.
