Accused granted $4 000 bail

A 51-year-old man has denied an assault charge leveled against him.

John Martin Trotman, of Applegrove, Black Rock, St Michael is alleged to have committed the crime against Cyralene Gaskin on January 19 causing her actual harm.

He pleaded not guilty to the offence before Magistrate Deidre McKenna at the Oistins Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.

There was no objection to bail from prosecutor Station Sergeant Peter Barrow and the accused has been ordered to stay away from the complainant.

He was granted bail in the sum of $4 000 which he secured with one surety to reappear before the court on May 16.
