Duo admit to importing guns, ammo and drugs

Two men who pleaded guilty to over a dozen drugs, guns and ammunition offences will know their fate in another two months.

Fisherman Grantley Dolar Babb, who is in his 60s, of No. 62 Lower Burney, St Michael and Stacey Terrance Richards, who is a cook in his 40s, of No 249 Kingsland Gardens North, Christ Church admitted to the offences before the No 3 Supreme Court today.

The men who are represented by attorney-at-law Romain Marshall appeared before Justice Carlisle Greaves.

They admitted to possession and importation of three .40 calibre pistols, a .45 pistol, a 9mm pistol and 23 rounds of ammunition without the valid licences to do so.

Babb and Richards also admitted that they imported, had possession and trafficked 232.4 kilogrammes of cannabis and 6.5 kilogrammes of cocaine on March 20, 2018.

Senior Crown Counsel Neville Watson will outline the facts of the case when they reappear before the High Court on July 15. Justice Greaves will also sentence the convicted men after attorneys on both sides make oral submissions on sentencing on that day. However those submissions must be sent in writing to the court by July 8.

In the meantime the defence attorney requested that pre-sentencing reports be conducted on his clients. They were ordered.
