Down in The Hole Wednesdays set to entertain

Adrian Cumberbatch and Brett Awer are teaming up to host Down In The Hole Wednesdays at White Rabbit Bar and Restaurant, Drax Hall, St George.

Awer who is a former student of The Alexandra School and holds a Diploma in Electrical Installation from the Samuel Jackman Prescod Institute of Technologysaidthe idea to host a weekly Soca event dubbed Down In The Hole stemmed from a conversation he had with Cumberbatch over a month ago.

“Adrian was working as a consultant at the time at White Rabbit Bar and Restaurant and he contacted me stating how nice the layout of the bar was and he wanted me to come and have a look at it.

After having a walkthrough, he put forward the proposal and asked if I would partner with him to host a Soca event and I said, ‘Why not, we can give it a shot’ and this was how Down In The Hole Wednesdays was born,” he said.

Cumberbatch who is currently the Executive Chef at White Rabbit Bar and Restaurant, said they have been hosting the event for the past three weeks.

“I enjoy hosting parties, especially Soca Parties. Having spent ten years in Trinidad and Tobago working with huge events I fell in love with party promotions.

Thus far we have had Mole and Bruce Lee Almighty, Edwin Yearwood and this week we have Mikey Mercer, Bobo, Betty B and Verseewild,” he said.

Cumberbatch who is a former student of the Coleridge and Parry School andholds a Degree in Culinary Management from the Trinidad and Tobago Hospitality and Tourism Institute said that unlike Awer who is new to hosting events he has hosted all-inclusive events before, all of which were successful.

“I have hosted all-inclusive events for my birthday on Tiami Cruises. In Trinidad Tobago I was in charge of one of the biggest Soca Fetes which was held at the Hyatt Hotel in Trinidad. So, I am bringing this knowledge and expertise to the Down In The Hole Wednesdays at White Rabbit Bar and Restaurant,” Cumberbatch said.

Awer said he is hoping that patrons come out to the event and relax as they enjoy some of Barbados’ top soca artistes in a safe environment.

He revealed that they have plans to have bigger and better events in the not to distant future at White Rabbit Bar and Restaurant.
