Barbadians eager to own “a piece of the rock” will have the opportunity to view a wide cross section of housing solutions when the National Housing Corporation (NHC) hosts its mortgage fair this Saturday at the Golden Square Freedom Park.

General Manager of the NHC Ian Gill explained that the event runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will feature a variety of homes to comfortably fit the pockets of all prospective house owners.

“For example, those earning under $2 000 monthly will be able to qualify for the Hope Advanced project under the umbrella of NHC which will include homes from the Guyanese Duravilla and East/West Corporation projects.

“The Hope Direct project, which caters to salaries in the scale of $2 000 to $4 000, will also feature homes currently under construction at Lancaster, St James.

Hope Incorporated, which is a joint venture with NHC, is a government private sector company.

“There is also the availability of homes for those in the salary scale of over $4 000 being constructed at Chancery Lane, Christ Church, which is a joint NHC venture with construction company Housing Concepts. In the thrust to provide homes for all and sundry, a variety of homes will also be constructed at Pool, St John and Colleton, St Lucy,” Gill said.

Saturday’s mortgage fair will feature video presentations and NHC personnel will also be on hand to provide additional information.

A number of financial institutions, including credit unions, will also be on site at Golden Square to discuss mortgage programmes for prospective applicants. (PR)
