BMS monitors approaching tropical wave

The Barbados Meteorological Services (BMS) is closely monitoring a tropical wave approaching the island.

In a weather information statement issued today, the BMS said the system was located at 52W or 1080km or 670 miles southeast of Barbados at 2 p.m.

The BMS said: “This system is expected to bring some moderate to heavy showers and thunderstorms around Thursday, 25th August, 2022. Some areas across the island are already saturated due to frequent rains over the past few weeks and as a result flash-flood watches or warnings may be required at short notice.”

The forecasters have advised the public to stay alert for updates.

The next update will be issued at 12 p.m. on Wednesday. (BMS)
