By Morissa Lindsay Inniss ‘Blue’ House amassed 394 points and anchored their way to yet another title as they repeated as champions of the Christ Church Foundation School Inter-House Swimming Sports, held today at the National Aquatic Centre in Wildey. The favourites did not disappoint even after a two-year break as they stamped their authority ahead of their closest rivals Lynch ‘Green’ House who accounted for 172 points. Lynch House staved off keen competition from Skeete ‘Yellow’ House who tallied 159 points for third position. In fourth place was Talma ‘Purple’ House on 137 points and Wellington ‘Red’ House ended with 73 points to round out the five competing houses. Senior victrix ludorum and Barbados junior captain Adara Stoddard led by example in the pool. (Pictures by Morissa Lindsay) Senior victor ludorum Kareem Johnson was part of the Inniss House success as he registered 54 points in the 13 to 14 Division while the senior victrix ludorum was national swimmer and record holder Adara Stoddard of Skeete House with 54 points in the 15 and over age group. She was absolutely brilliant winning all of her races. Rajanni St. Hill of Lynch House won the boys 15 and over butterfly race. A product of local swim club High Tide, Stoddard is one of the top female swimmers in the country and therefore anyone who came to challenge her in the Girls 15 and Over Division had to come extremely well prepared. She was unmatched in all her races that included the 50m freestyle, 100m individual medley, 25m butterfly, 25m backstroke, 25m breaststroke and 25m freestyle. Joint victrix ludorum Rylan Marville of Inniss House won the 13 to 14 girls butterfly. Inniss House possessed the quality and talent needed to repeat as champions as they also had Samiya Johnson in the Girls 12 and under and Rylan Marville in the 13 to 14 age group as part of the team. Those two commanded the show in their respective age groups and tied on 54 points each to be crowned joint victrix ludorum.Another one of Barbados’ top junior male prospects is Tariq Greenidge of Lynch House in the 12 and under boys age group. Joint junior victrix ludorum Simya Johnson of Inniss House was dominant in the 12 and under girls age group. Greenidge showed his capabilities by destroying the field each and every time he entered the pool. While Greenidge was outstanding and registered 54 points in total, he needed assistance from other members of the Lynch House team that finished second overall.
