A 21-year-old man was gunned down in Bush Hall Yard Gap, St Michael, on Friday afternoon, becoming the island’s 40th homicide victim this year.

Police identified the shooting victim as Pallu Rohan Arthur, of Greenidge Road, Hindsbury Road, St Michael.

According to Communications and Public Affairs Officer of the Barbados Police Service Acting Inspector Rodney Inniss, police received a call around 2:15 p.m. about a shooting incident at Bush Hall.

He said when officers from the District ‘A’ Police Station and personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department arrived on the scene about 10 minutes later, they discovered the motionless body of a young man on the ground, near a shop.

The police medical doctor pronounced him dead at the scene.

Tight-lipped residents watched from a distance as investigators combed the scene.

“We are canvassing persons around who might have seen, witnessed or heard the incident to come forward and help us with this investigation,” Inniss said.
