Business Local News Roach leaves BHTA after six months Randy Bennett21/12/20220321 views For the second time in six months the Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association (BHTA) will have to fill the role of chief executive officer. That’s because current Chief Executive Officer (CEO)Geoffrey Roach has announced that he will be stepping down from the position after only a short time in the role. A press release issued today stated that Roach made the disclosure during the BHTA’s recent Fourth Quarterly Meeting. Last May, then CEO Rudy Grant stepped down from the role after six years to also pursue other opportunities. He was subsequently named as Barbados’ Consul General to Miami. The BHTA said it would begin its search to replace Roach in the new year. “Geoffrey Roach has decided that he will not stay on as the CEO of the BHTA. Roach, who was still in his probationary period, will be heading off to pursue other career opportunities and so, as he winds down, we would like to take this time to thank him and wish him well in his future endeavours. “This means that the secretariat again faces the task of selecting someone to take us into the future. We will commence that search for another talented Barbadian to join the legacy of great leadership for which this association is known, in the new year, and will keep you all well updated on this process,” the BHTA said in the release.
