Youth remanded for December murder

A 20-year-old farmer appeared before the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court on crutches on Wednesday, accused of murdering another man earlier this month.

Absalom Abejah Francis-Hunte, of Upper Collymore Rock, St Michael, is charged with the December 3 shooting death of Jabar Yarde. He is also accused of using a firearm on that same date without a valid licence to do so.

The accused was not required to plead to the indictable charges after they were read by Magistrate Manila Renee.

He was remanded to Dodds Prison until March 17.

Yarde, 33, was killed in a shooting incident at Westbury, St Michael.
