Implementation of Customs & Excise Department’s 2022 tariff

The Customs and Excise Department is reminding stakeholders and representative bodies desirous of receiving tariff considerations that they have until this Friday, January 20, to submit their recommendations to the Comptroller of Customs.

Those areas for tariff consideration are: changes for tariff headings; errors; omissions; incorrect application of rules; reclassification of products, and breakout derogations.

Additionally, last year, the Ministry of Finance was approached by various organisations regarding derogations or other considerations for specially imported products.

Those requests should be submitted to the department to be reviewed and if accepted, they will be included in the 2022 Tariff slated to be implemented in April 2023.  Written submissions should be sent to owen.holder@customs.gov.bb. (BGIS)
