Talks underway at Frederick Smith Secondary School

Top Education officials and representatives of the island’s teachers’ unions are currently meeting with staff at the Frederick Smith Secondary School in light of a serious matter involving a female student at the Trents, St James-based institution on Thursday.
Heading the meeting which started just after 9 a.m. is Minister of Education Kay McConney, Chief Education Officer Dr Ramona Archer-Bradshaw, and Deputy Chief Education Officer Joy Adamson. President of the Barbados Union of Teachers (BUT) Rudy Lovell, President of the Barbados Secondary Teachers Union (BSTU) Mary Redman and Senator Reverend John Rogers are also attending the meeting being held in the school’s auditorium.
Representatives from a security firm have also been seen at the location. anestahenry@barbadostoday.bb
