Local News News Update: Government issues all-clear Barbados Today23/06/20230438 views Minister of Home Affairs Wilfred Abrahams has issued the all-clear for Barbados but has urged citizens to exercise caution. “All-clear does not mean, all safe. It means we have done assessments and we believe that if Barbadians exercise due care and attention and are cognisant of the circumstances of what happened recently that they should be able to traverse our roadways and conduct their business safely. Please pay attention when you go out,” he advised at an early morning briefing at the headquarters of the Department of Emergency Management. He announced that schools will remain closed today. However, students who are sitting the Caribbean Examination Council’s Communication Studies CAPE Exam should report to exam centres for 9:30 a.m. Students who are unable to go to their respective exam centres can take the test at the nearest exam centre. “If the student has difficulty in getting to your assigned exam centre you can get to the exam centre nearest to you and you will be facilitated in taking the exam,”Abrahams explained. Abrahams also announced that the Grantley Adams International Airport will reopen at 7 a.m. The Transport Board is also scheduled to resume services at 7:30 a.m.
