Success for Barbados at Senior Caribbean Area Squash Championships

Barbados Women continued their 5-0 winning streak against Trinidad and Jamaica.

The women’s team of Margot Prow, Jada Smith-Padmore, Sumairaa Suleman, Jodi Smith-Padmore and Muffin Stollmeyer dismissed their Trinidadian opponents 3-0 in each instance with the exception of Stollmeyer who won by default.

Prow defeated Tessa Martin 11-2, 11-2, 11-5. Jada defeated Chloe Walcott 11-4, 11-2, 11-5, Suleman dismissed Faith Gillezeau 11-9, 11-7, 11-7 and Jodi defeated Signourney Williams 11-2, 11-2, 11-1.

In their face-off against Jamaica, 3-0 wins were once again served. Prow defeated Jessica Davis 12-10, 11-2, 13-11. Jada dismissed Karen Anderson 11-9, 11-6, 13-11. Suleman defeated Melissa Lue Yen 11-5, 11-8, 11-0. Jodi and Stollmeyer were both awarded default wins.

The women will now face off the two remaining countries Cayman Islands and Guyana in hopes of capturing the first place finish.

The Vets Men and Women were also successful in their face-off against Bermuda and Trinidad respectively.

Don Benn triumphed over James Dodgson 11-4, 11-3, 13-11. Mark Gilkes dismissed Peter Drury 11-9, 11-6, 11-2 and Mark Sealy got a default win.

The vets women saw Lilianna White facing off Rhea Khan in a tough 3-2 win 11-9, 8-11, 11-8, 4-11, 11-6. Lucyla Seale defeated Cathy Martin 11-7, 11-3, 11-8 and Karen Meakins won her match by default.
