Lady Tridents hold Bermuda to draw

The Lady Tridents produced a valiant performance to hold favourites Bermuda to a 1-1 draw in their Concacaf Women’s Gold Cup qualification encounter.

Playing at the Wildey AstroTurf on Friday night, Bermuda took the lead in the 24th minute courtesy of a strike from Aaliyah Nolan to give the visitors a 1-0 advantage.

However, Barbados secured a second half equalizer when Adrienne Forde found the back of the net in the 47th minute to make it 1-1.

Bermuda were hunting a third consecutive victory after registering wins against the Dominican Republic and St Vincent and the Grenadines in their opening two matches.

It was a decent result for the Lady Tridents, who went into the match following a 3-0 whipping by the Dominican Republic in their last match on September 26.

Barbados will now travel to Bermuda next Tuesday to play their return leg at the National Sports Centre. (RB)
