New Government ministers and Senator officially appointed

In a brief ceremony held at State House on Monday morning, two government ministers and a government senator were sworn in before President the Most Honourable Dame Sandra Mason.

The event was attended by Prime Minister Mia Mottley, Attorney General Dale Marshall, Senior Minister William Duguid, Senator Jerome Walcott, other government senators, family members and guests.

Freshly appointed Minister of Industry, Innovation, Science, and Technology Marsha Caddle expressed her eagerness to promptly assume her duties.

She stressed the importance of collaborative efforts with her ministry’s dedicated officers, recognising their role in supporting emerging industries and fostering innovation for the sake of economic growth and development.

Chad Blackman, now serving as Minister in the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Investment, was first sworn in as Senator.

He said he eagerly awaited his ministry’s briefing and was ready to hit the ground running and contribute to Barbados’ prosperity.The ceremony, which followed Prime Minister Mottley’s announced Cabinet reshuffle on Saturday, also witnessed Reverend Charles Morris taking the Oath of Office as Senator.
