Repair work continues at Hampton Pumping Station

Barbados Water Authority (BWA) said personnel pressed ahead with repair work being conducted at the Hampton Pumping Station in St Philip on Tuesday.

Crews are working on lifting the damaged pump out of the well. That pump will then be replaced and the new one put into operation.

The BWA has urged customers to store an adequate amount of water for their households to help tide them over while the pipe-borne supply is off.

“The Authority’s Water Tanker team will continue to assist residents in the districts impacted by low pressure or a water outage as a result of the work, in the interim,” it said. “The Barbados Water Authority appreciates the continued understanding and patience of its customers in this catchment area.”
