COVID-19 cases rise

Barbados has recorded a spike in COVID-19 cases.
In its report for December 23, 2023 to January 19, 2024, the Ministry of Health said there were 182 new cases from the 925 tests conducted during the period, with no deaths. This compares to 21 positive cases from 333 tests during the prior recording period, November 25 to December 22 last year.
Of the new 182 positive cases, 172 patients were 18 years and older and the other 10 were under the age of 18.
Up to January 19, Barbados had recorded a total of 110, 480 COVID-19 cases. The death toll stands at 648.
