Sagicor Bank named Barbados’ ‘best consumer digital bank’

lobal Finance magazine has named Sagicor Bank (arbados) the ‘best consumer digital bank’ in Barbados in its 2024′World’s Best Consumer Digital Bank Awards’ for the Latin America region.

 

The prestigious financial publication, renowned for its industry leadership, recognised Sagicor Bank with 10 awards across several categories, including “Best Information Security and Fraud Management”, “Best in Lending”, and “Best Consumer Digital Bank” in Barbados.

 

“We are thrilled to be recognised for the innovative work we are doing here at Sagicor Bank,” stated Sagicor Bank CEO, George Thomas. “As the country’s first digital bank, we have been operating in uncharted territory, and though it has been challenging navigating these unchartered waters, we remain committed to providing Barbados with a better banking experience.”

 

The awards panel, comprising experts from global consulting firm Infosys, evaluated entries based on criteria such as the banks’ strategies for attracting and serving digital customers, the success in getting clients to use digital offerings, the breadth of product offerings, and the tangible benefits gained from digital initiatives.

 

“The rapid advancements in fintech, the rise of digital currencies, and the increasing importance of cybersecurity are continually redefining the benchmarks for exceptional digital banking services,” said Joseph Giarraputo, founder and editorial director of Global Finance. “This year’s winners are leading the way with innovative digital solutions and setting new standards in the industry.”

 

The full list of awards won by Sagicor Bank (Barbados) Limited includes several country-level and regional accolades, such as Best Online Product Offerings, Best Bill Payment and Presentment, Best User Experience (UX) Design, and Best in Innovation.
