Titans upset Settlers

ed by an opening partnership of 86 between Shian Brathwaite and Tennyson Roach, Titans pulled off a nine wicket upset win against defending champions Settlers in the Bim 10 Tournament at the Windward grounds, Lucas Street in St Phillip on Sunday.
After winning the toss and electing to bowl, Jerome Jones was able to remove both opening batters for the Settlers, when he dismissed Zachary Carter (zero) and Kadeem Alleyne (16). Jones finished with two wickets for 17 runs in his two overs. Titans’ bowlers tightened the screws during the middle overs, Shamar Marshall being the main wicket taker with figures of two for 15 in his two overs.
Once again, Kevin Wickham top scored, scoring 22 in 16 balls to help the Settlers post a total of 87 for six in their 10 overs.
Brathwaite was the aggressor during the run chase, scoring 52 not-out in 28 balls laced with four fours and four sixes while Roach lost his wicket when his team was one run away from victory, scoring 35 in 26 balls with three fours and two sixes. Brathwaite moved into first place for most runs in the tournament with 249, two runs ahead of Wickham at 247.
Titans ended on 92 for one in 9.1 overs to secure their third win of the tournament.

Guardians deny Voyagers in final ball

Guardians squeezed out a win by five runs against the Voyagers who are yet to win a game for the tournament.
Batting first after losing the toss, Guardians got up to a total of 122 for five in their 10 overs. Opening batter Athelbert Brathwaite scored a brilliant 60 in 28 balls with five fours and five sixes. He stood in a 95-run third wicket partnership with Roshon Primus, who made 37 in 19 balls, which included three fours and three sixes.
After losing Jadan Jones with the first ball of the reply, Akeem Springer and Giovante Depeiza put on 86 runs for the second wicket as Voyagers gave themselves a shot at the target.

Akeem Springer’s 53 in 24 balls wasn’t enough to get the Voyagers their first win.

Depeiza lost his wicket for 25 as he faced 16 balls while Springer was dismissed in the seventh over for a well played 53 in 24 balls, striking seven fours and three sixes. Needing 26 in the final 15 balls, Voyagers got it to six runs off the last delivery. Amari Goodridge only managed a single as they fell five runs short to end on 118 for four in 10 overs.
Primus picked up two wickets for 18 runs.
