Third man charged for Junior Taitt’s murder

nother man has been remanded to prison on a murder charge stemming from the discovery of human remains in St John last month.

Jason Corey Omar Weekes appeared before Magistrate Johann Clarke and was not required to enter a plea to the indictable charge that he murdered Junior Taitt between June 27, 2023 and December 5, 2024.

The 43-year-old of Moncrieffe, St Philip will make his next court appearance next Monday, January 13.

On that date, two other men previously charged with the murder — 25-year-old Samir Jamaldo Wilfred of Cox Hill, Church Village, St Philip and Old Post Office Road, Market Hill, St George; and 61-year-old Ian Kenrick Gittens, who was listed as having no fixed place of abode – will also appear in court again.

Wilfred and Gittens have been additionally charged with the murder of Randy Ken O’Brien Brathwaite. They were arrested after a police operation in Henley, St John, led to the discovery of the human remains of two men. (BT)
