The Barbados Prison Service (BPrS) recently presented a table tennis table to the Government Industrial School (GIS).

Superintendent of Prisons DeCarlo Payne handed over the table to the Acting Principal of the Government Industrial School, Seilest Bradshaw. Also present were the Staff Officer at the BPrS, Granville Drakes; GIS Executive Officer, Donna Bobb; and the Assistant Accountant at GIS, Damian Williams.

The table, which was built at Dodds Prison in the Industries Section, was a collaboration between the Auto Body/Metal Workshop and the Carpenter’s Workshop.

The Prison Industries inmates’ rehabilitation programmes include training in vehicular mechanics, auto body repairs and metal works, joinery, furniture building and repairs, leather craft, tailoring and art.

Bradshaw said she was very pleased to receive the table and was sure the GIS wards would be excited to incorporate it as part of their recreation and sporting activities.
