Piast Gilwice have completed the loan signing of Barbadian football ace Thierry Gale from SK Rapid Wien.

The 22 year-old joined the Poland top division club on a year-long deal which includes an option to buy.

Gilwice will pay 100 per cent of Gale’s salary.

The move away from Rapid Wien comes 17 months after he completed his biggest transfer from Georgian side FC Dila Gori in a record deal worth 700 000 Euros, plus 100 000 Euros in add-ons (BDS $ 1.7 million), on a four year contract.

Today, Gilwice unveiled Gale as their new No.11 on social media after he passed his medical.

Gilwice is currently sitting 10th in the Ekstraklasa, Gale is expected to make his debut on Saturday versus Legia Warszawa.

Gale, who plays for the Barbados senior men’s national team has scored a single goal for Rapid in eight matches.

For Barbados he has netted eight times in 15 appearances.

The move represents a fresh start for Gale who will be hoping for much needed playing time after  suffering an injury which forced him out of Rapid squad. (BT)
