Six held in $4m drug bust at Welches Beach

Six people have been taken into police custody following a significant drug seizure at Welches Beach, Christ Church, on Sunday.

The operation, carried out by The Barbados Police Service Narcotics Division in collaboration with other law enforcement agencies, resulted in the confiscation of 566.90 kilogrammes of suspected vegetable matter, believed to be cannabis, according to a police statement.

The seized drugs have an estimated street value of $4 535 200.00, highlighting the scale of the operation. In addition to the narcotics, authorities also impounded a vessel and a vehicle during the raid.
