Rodney Ricardo Green of 4th Avenue Pickwick Gap, St Michael appeared in the District ‘A’ Traffic Court and pleaded guilty to stealing a generator assembly valued at $1 371.77, four ignition coil assemblies valued at $1 625, an air conditioner compressor valued at $3 011.19, a switch assembly valued at 224.57, a speaker box valued at $76.22 and a battery valued at $448.19, with a total value of $6 756.94 belonging to Christopher Cooke-Johnson. The thefts occurred between September 4, 2024 and February 26, 2025. The court heard from the prosecutor, Constable Ralph Rollock, that Cooke-Johnson, who does not live in Barbados, had the vehicle parked on his property but realised from security camera footage that parts were constantly being removed. He returned to the island and when he checked, he realised the parts were missing and made a report to the police. Beckles, who has nine prior convictions for theft, was arrested and charged. The stolen parts were not recovered. Placing the thief on the bond, Magistrate Alison Burke warned that if he breaches it, he must pay $500 forthwith or spend three months in prison.
