Man injured in shooting incident

A man is recovering after being shot last night while at Maynards, St Peter.

Police say some individuals were socialising in the vicinity of a bar at around 9:30 p.m. when an armed masked assailant approached from a track and robbed one of them.

The assailant then discharged the firearm, injuring another male.

The shooting victim was taken for urgent medical care in a private motorcar. He was treated and discharged.

The matter was reported to the District E Station, and investigations are continuing.
