Masked men escape with cash, firearm in brazen Bridgetown robbery

Police are searching for two masked assailants who escaped with several bags of cash and a firearm following a daring robbery of security company transit officers on Sunday morning.

The incident occurred at approximately 9:30 a.m. in the area of High Street, Bridgetown, St Michael, as the officers were conducting a cash-in-transit operation.

According to reports, the two armed men emerged from a silver-grey SUV and confronted the officers, seizing the money and a firearm before fleeing the scene in the same vehicle.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have information that could assist with the investigation to contact the Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1800-8477, Police Emergency at 211, or the Criminal Investigations Department at 430-7189 or 430-7190. (PR/BT)
