Motorcyclist loses his life in Lodge Road collision

Barbados recorded its eighth road fatality for the year on Tuesday night, when a motorcyclist was struck and killed along Lodge Road, Christ Church.

The victim, identified by police as 35-year-old Laqwain Morris of Silver Hill, Christ Church, was riding around 9:45 p.m., when he was involved in a collision with a car.

Emergency medical personnel responded to the scene and found no signs of life. A medical doctor subsequently pronounced Morris dead at the scene.
Investigations are ongoing.

Police are appealing to members of the public who may have witnessed the accident to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477, Police Emergency at 211, or the Oistins Police Station at 418-2612, 418-2611, or 418-2604.
