AG: Forensic Sciences Centre to be fully operational by September

Barbados will have a fully operational Forensic Sciences Centre by September, providing law enforcement with a significant boost in its ability to investigate crime scenes.

Addressing the 2025 Criminal Law Conference at the Wyndham Grand Barbados Sam Lord’s Castle, Attorney General Dale Marshall admitted that, over the last 15 years, the current centre had not been functioning as it should. He said the state-of-the-art facility would utilise technologies, including RapidHIT DNA tests, which would deliver results within 24 hours.

Underscoring the importance of forensic evidence, Marshall said its use would help to ensure that the guilty are convicted while protecting the innocent. (JB)
