The Barbados Port Inc. has launched an investigation into a video circulating on social media that appears to show several workers handling a white Ferrari in a manner that has sparked public concern.

In the swear-laden video, which has been widely shared online, several individuals, believed to be employees at the port, can be seen displaying the imported luxury sports car and seemingly driving it carelessly on the compound. Faces are clearly visible on camera.

While the Barbados Port Inc. did not give any specifics in a statement issued on Saturday, it confirmed that it is investigating the circumstances surrounding a video circulating across social media and said it sincerely regretted the incident.

“We sincerely regret the incident and acknowledge the concerns expressed among our customers, members of the public and other stakeholders.”

“Barbados Port Inc. is taking this seriously and addressing this matter through its formal processes. We are in contact with all relevant stakeholders and appreciate the patience and understanding of all those impacted.”

Regarding the video, the statement noted that the Port “does not condone this behaviour which is contrary to our commitment and obligation as the custodian of cargo received at the Port of Bridgetown”. (BT)
