Lashley secures BLP nomination to represent The City

Michael Lashley

Michael Lashley was elected unopposed as the Barbados Labour Party’s next candidate for The City of Bridgetown on Saturday.

In his acceptance speech, he thanked supporters, saying he was “humbled” and “overwhelmed” by the confidence placed in him by not only residents but the party’s leadership.

He also thanked the people of St Philip North for their support both in his political and professional life as an attorney.

He further stated that “whatever I do in politics comes from my heart and not for political gain. Politics is a service”.

Lashley ended by saying to Prime Minister Mia Mottley: “This is Michael Lashley reporting for duty”.
