Belle makes history for WI U19

Shaquan Belle has written his name in the history books while leading the West Indies Under 19 team to an important victory against South Africa at the High-Performance Oval ground,  Windhoek, Namibia on Thursday. 

The slimly built right-handed fast bowler took 6 wickets for 40 runs from his 10 overs in a must win match for the West Indies.

These bowling figures are the best achieved by any Barbadian at the ICC CWC Under 19 level. 

Earlier in the match, another Barbadian Zachary Carter stroked 114 runs (8*4, 8*6) in a total of 234 all out in 47.5 overs for the West Indies. South Africa Under 19 were dismissed for 179 in  37.4 overs to be defeated by 55 runs. 

Belle, aged 19, who is a recent graduate of the Scarborough School in the United Kingdom is also a former student of The Lodge School in Barbados. (PR)
